“An alternative to feeling painfully cut off is to learn to rejoice in the happiness of others. … Learning to share their joy revolutionizes our thinking about where we can find happiness.” — Sharon Salzberg
Joy uplifts and brightens the heart. When we delight in goodness, we discover a refuge — a buoyant yet steady presence that neither clings to pleasure nor is diminished by suffering. In this delight, we cultivate the brightness of mind to meet life with openness, patience, and curiosity.
With mindfulness and intention, we can learn to uplift the mind and body rather than weigh it down, to access encouragement and comaraderie rather than jealousy and to trust the innate goodness that joy reveals in our heart-mind.
Join us for a morning of quiet contemplation as we turn toward the boundless practice of altruistic joy (mudita). Together, we will enjoy yoga, deep rest, guided meditation, journalling and the power of silence and community to hold and heal.
The movement (yoga) portion is suitable for all abilities. Beginners are very welcome.
